AI-Powered Growth

November 5, 2025

Captain's log

AI is the overconfident intern in every brainstorm. Always an answer, rarely the question. Ask for a tagline, you get a manifesto. Ask for a strategy, you get a mood board.

The strange part? It’s often close. Close enough to make you second-guess your gut. That’s the trap. The work is taste, judgment, and the edit.

Here’s the catch. Wherever we are fuzzy, the machine will fill the gap. If we don’t know what we mean, it will confidently make something up that sounds right. If we aren’t specific, the model supplies specifics, shaping tone and direction in ways we didn’t choose.

The upside: the cost is low enough to learn fast. Ship. Test. Cut. Keep what works. Kill what doesn’t.

This week I’m looking at where judgment still matters: how people respond to AI-made assets, how CRMs learn to think, how SEO grows past shortcuts. All signs point to a tighter kind of precision that only comes from human taste.

From Janitor to CEO: Crafting Better Education at Scale

Last week on Good Enough Isn’t, Myles Biggs and I sat down with Bill Nance, CEO of StrataTech. Bill started as a janitor and worked his way to the CEO chair with one simple rule: every process should make sense to the person it serves.

We dig into how he balances short-term pressure with long-term purpose, why referrals beat volume, and how AI can help real students while keeping human connection.

Bill’s story hits on leadership, trust, and what it really takes to build systems that serve people. It’s the kind of talk that sticks with you.

About Good Enough Isn't

Most business podcasts celebrate wins. Good Enough Isn’t does the opposite.

We started this show because real growth doesn’t come from success stories. It comes from the hard moments, the failures, the pivots, and the lessons that push leaders past “good enough.”

Each week, Myles Biggs and I sit down with people who refused to settle and built something better. The conversations are honest, practical, and focused on how real leaders drive change that lasts.

If you’ve led through one of those moments, if you’ve rebuilt, rethought, or refused to settle, we want your story.

Apply to be a guest. Let's talk about what happens after "good enough."

The psychology of advertising: Turning behavior Into measurable conversions

Advertising has always blended art and instinct. It is now becoming a measurable discipline that connects creative choices to business results.

PPC Hero notes that attention, emotion, and memory still drive performance. The difference is that marketers can now watch those forces in real time and see what actually moves people.

When you understand how people think and feel, you can design campaigns that land. Triggers like curiosity, social proof, and a sense of control shape action and build loyalty.

Modern analytics and AI show how those triggers perform moment by moment. Reading and responding to behavioral signals turns creative work into a data-informed practice that compounds impact.

Winning executive trust beyond marketing attribution

MarTech looks at how marketing leaders build credibility as traditional attribution matters less. The answer is to be clear about how decisions move the business and to speak to outcomes everyone recognizes.

Precision is losing value as complexity and privacy increase. Executives want what happened, why it happened, and what you will do next. Tie choices to revenue, profit, pipeline, or CAC to LTV in plain language.

Define success with sales, finance, and product. Pick a few KPIs that reflect company goals and agree on the time frame to judge impact.

Narrate the work from insight to outcome. Show the inputs, the choice, the result, and the adjustment. Do this consistently and credibility compounds. Clarity wins. Outcomes earn the room.

AI tool of the week

Sora by OpenAI

Most people know what Sora does. The real progress is how creative teams are putting it to work

We’ve been testing Sora for ad imagery and concept videos. The compositions are strong, with natural lighting and movement, but faces still require extra refinement. We use those clips as visual guides in Google Whisk to finalize the details. The workflow is faster, easier to iterate, and produces higher-quality results.

Sora brings clarity early in the process. Seeing an idea take motion within minutes changes how direction and collaboration happen. The pace of experimentation becomes the new creative advantage.
